Introduction to Oil-Immersed Transformer
The oil-immersed transformer is ingeniously composed of core, windings, oil tank, insulation bushings, radiators, and additional critical components. The core, crafted from laminated silicon steel sheets, is designed to mitigate eddy current losses. The windings, constructed from either copper or aluminum wires, serve the pivotal role of voltage transformation through the principle of electromagnetic induction. The oil tank holds the transformer oil, which is vital for providing insulation, cooling, and efficient heat dissipation. Working Principle:
Built upon the principles of electromagnetic induction, the transformer modifies the magnitude of AC voltage via the turns ratio between the primary and secondary windings. When the primary winding is connected to an AC power source, it generates an alternating magnetic flux within the core, thereby inducing a corresponding voltage in the secondary winding. Features:
- Superior insulation performance: Transformer oil offers excellent insulation properties, effectively preventing short circuits between windings and between windings and the core.
- Optimal heat dissipation: The superior fluidity of the oil facilitates rapid removal of heat generated during transformer operation, ensuring it functions within a safe temperature range.
