Oil-immersed transformers by Zhejiang Gangkong Electric Co., Ltd. utilize oil as their primary insulation and cooling medium. These transformers offer various cooling options like oil-immersed self-cooling, air-cooling, water-cooling, and forced oil circulation. The core components include an iron core, winding, oil tank, oil pillow, respirator, explosion-proof tube (pressure relief valve), radiator, insulation sleeve, tap changer, gas relay, thermometer, and oil purifier.
Silicon steel sheets within these oil-immersed transformers benefit from long-term immersion, where the oil seeps into the layers providing elasticity and noise reduction. However, the pressure regulating switch is located inside the oil tank, making external contact visibility impossible. Poor contact during regulation can act as a circuit breaker and may burn out the switch under high load conditions.
Operating Temperature: Oil-immersed transformers can function optimally under specified cooling conditions, with top oil temperatures not exceeding 90°C. To ensure longevity and prevent insulation aging, it is advisable to maintain the top oil temperature below 85°C frequently. Alarm settings should be configured at 80°C.
Overload Capacity: These transformers are designed to handle both normal and accidental overload conditions. Installing overload signals or a comprehensive measuring instrument is crucial. For oil-immersed transformers, the overload signal value should range between 1.1 to 1.2 times the rated current, whereas, for dry-type transformers, it should be 1.2 to 1.3 times the rated current (considering the fan's current).
Post Overload Signal Activation: Continuous monitoring of load and temperature is essential after an overload signal is triggered. Immediate inspection should be conducted to identify the cause of overload, especially if the load exceeds 1.3 times the rated current or the temperature surpasses the upper limit. Monthly data downloads and load analysis are recommended, with shorter intervals for overload-prone transformers.

Longevity: The fully sealed transformer oil tank design ensures no air contact, hence prolonging the service life of the transformer. The oil tank can either be bolted or welded along its edges, further preventing oil-air contact and securing prolonged durability.
